Afterschool - Out of School Programs
Providing quality afterschool care for all children is a top priority in our community.
For our children who live in neighborhoods that experience a higher level of violence, it is particularly important that we provide a positive, enriching environment before and after school that offers high-quality programs to families. Afterschool programs can help decrease the academic achievement gap for our students by expanding learning opportunities for children. Quality Afterschool programs advance the goals of public safety, academic achievement and youth development.
School-Community Learning Centers are a model for engaging the community in the schools and neighborhoods, the Center provides is a place and set of partnerships that provide integrated programs and services for students and families. The school becomes the hub of the neighborhood, a safe place with structured activities before, during and after school. The Center is a place where students and families can engage in fun, enriching and constructive activities.
